About the Editor

My name is Ken DeRouchie and I am the editor of The Practice Solution Magazine, published by Silkin Group.

I am often asked about my background. So let me take this opportunity to fill you in. I relocated from Michigan and moved to Portland, OR in July of 1990 to work for Silkin Group. They are a Practice Management Consulting Company. I have been analyzing practices with Silkin Since that time. To date, I have spoken to well over 15,000 practice owners about the challenges they face, juggling between being the clinician and the owner of their practice.

Back in 2002 I helped found our practice management magazine, “The Practice Solution”. I was the primary writer for the magazine for the next 10 years. We’ve also had some wonderful contributing writers, such as, practice owners, business owners in related fields (HR Lawyers, Marketing directors etc.) as well as other staff here at Silkin.

In 2012 I took over as the editor of the magazine. Here on our website, you can read many articles I’ve written and get a feel for the kinds of management issues I deal with on a day to day basis. I also write a free weekly email newsletter that currently goes out to thousands of practice owners throughout North America. While you’re here on the magazine website, you have the ability to join the newsletter if you would like to receive it.

In addition to my role as the Editor of the magazine, I am still a practice analyst with Silkin and have been working with practice owners to discover bottlenecks and inefficiencies within their offices in order to help them achieve their goals.

This service is available to you. I will give you a free, one hour consultation over the phone. In this call we can discuss questions or concerns you have regarding the business side of your practice. In this call I will give you recommendations to help those areas out.
